From Trees to Cityscapes Gavin’s work is sensitive and detailed, there is an obsession with the power of observation and finding a truth through realism. With influences as diverse as Giovanni Caneletto, Vilhelm Hammershoi and Clive Head. Gavin’s work explores the visual world often moving between subject matters and creative media as he researches artistic process to investigate themes of light, space and experience.
Gavin lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. He divides his time between being a professional artist and teaching art and design in secondary education. He works in a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking and lens based media.
